The end of the Ventura Pier, a proud flag waves in the mild breeze on a warm summer afternoon. Santa Cruz Island sits quietly against the horizon with an old oil platform nestled in the rising fog.
Fishermen and visitors enjoy the view and the cool breezes off the ocean surface. Santa Cruz Island is a part of the Channel Islands chain, and is located off the West Coast of Ventura, California.
I began photography in the late 1940s when I receive a gift of a Kodak Brownie Box camera. Since that day I have been very interested in capturing as much artistic imagery as possible. I have moved up from the 120 by 120 B&W film to a Yashica, Single Lens Rangefinder 35mm, and Kodak color transparency film. My next acquisition was in the early 1980s with an Olympus OM-4, 35mm Single Lens Reflex camera and several accessory lens attachments. I also purchased my first chemical darkroom and equipment to print all my images. I was a big user of Kodak Kodacolor, and Kodak Ektachrome.
